Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR)
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is the only humane and effective approach to community cats, or unowned cats who live outdoors
Public TNR – These are cats that are under our FREE TNR spay/neuter program and have a caretaker. They are exempt from some city ordinances after they are approved caretakers. They MUST bring cats in separate boxes, carriers, traps, etc.
What’s TNR?
It’s a simple process: community cats are humanely trapped, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, ear tipped (so everyone knows they’ve been fixed!), and then returned to their outdoor homes where they thrive.
The Impact:
• Stops the breeding cycle: No more kittens, no more yowling, fighting, or spraying!
• Improves community relationships: Cats live happier, healthier lives, and communities experience less noise and fewer complaints.
• Saves lives & resources: Reduces shelter intake and saves taxpayer dollars.
Why Catch and Kill Doesn’t Work:
This outdated method creates a vacuum where new cats move in and the population rebounds. TNR offers a humane solution that stabilizes and reduces cat populations!
